While far from perfect, Cloud Atlas, the last film from Matrix creators Andy and Lana Wachowski, met with indifferent box office and strangely hostile reviews when it opened last fall. One might think that experience would send the Wachoswskis reeling towards a smaller project next—maybe something along the lines of their tasty, low-budget neo-noir debut picture Bound. But they’ve never been ones to lack for ambition. By the looks of its first trailer, their next film, Jupiter Ascending, is a big, expensive, star-driven, FX-heavy science fiction blockbuster. Jupiter Ascending is out next July.
